How many years have you been in this business?
9+ years!
Why did you join BOMA?
It started as an opportunity to learn more and with a hope to generate some business. It turned into constant learning around amazing people and gave an opportunity to add value to the community as a whole while spending time with those in my field.
What's one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
Did you know that Kepler-442b is thought to have a higher habitability rating than Earth?
What educational or business experiences best prepared you for your career?
I completed a two year business program at NBCC which gave me the skills I needed to function in a business environment and had the great fortune of learning from the best our business has to offer once I found my home at Cushman and Wakefield.
What advice would you give to professionals coming in to the commercial industry?
Explore, there are so many options and opportunities in this environment from advisor to property management to suppliers and technicians.
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be and why?
Call home just to check in more often.
What's your favourite movie and why?
The Shawshank Redemption. This should be self explanatory.
If you could have dinner with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Marcus Aurelius. He could offer a perspective and lens that I think would change the way I viewed the world.
How do you define success?
Success to me is a balanced cocktail of a happy home, a good reputation, being the best at what I do, working to improve the community and growing as an individual through ongoing education.
