Get to Know Our Committees & Current Initiatives: 

Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee represents the interests of our members by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that affect the commercial real estate sector.

Current Focus:

  • Developing a position letter and recommendations to improve fairness and transparency in New Brunswick’s property tax assessment system

  • Establishing a triage process to evaluate advocacy issues and prioritize efforts based on member interests

Education Committee
The Education Committee supports professional learning and industry knowledge across our membership and the broader CRE community by promoting relevant courses and organizing development opportunities.

Current Focus:

  • Promoting BOMI-accredited courses

  • Organizing professional development seminars and workshops

  • Serving as a resource for course and credential information

EMC (Events, Marketing & Communications) Committee
The EMC Committee develops and promotes BOMA NB PEI’s key events and communications initiatives, strengthening member engagement and increasing our visibility across the industry.

Current Focus:

  • Planning the 2026 Commercial Real Estate Symposium

  • Planning the 2026 BOMA Golf Tournament

  • Leading ongoing marketing, newsletters, and social media outreach

Community Engagement Committee
Guided by a spirit of giving back, the Community Engagement Committee connects BOMA NB PEI with local causes and initiatives that strengthen our communities and create lasting impact.

Current Focus:

  • Coordinating the NB Christmas Food Drive

  • Hosting the PEI Christmas Luncheon in collaboration with CAPEI to support community needs

  • Raising funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)

Sustainability Committee
The Sustainability Committee promotes sustainable practices in commercial real estate by championing BOMA BEST 4.1, collaborating with industry partners, and highlighting environmental leadership.

Current Focus:

  • Showcasing local sustainability initiatives and programs

  • Sharing tools, resources, and member success stories

  • Encouraging sustainable building operations and design practices

Membership Engagement Committee
The Membership Engagement Committee supports growth, retention, and a strong member experience by promoting the value of BOMA NB PEI and fostering a welcoming and connected community.

Current Focus:

  • Recruiting new members through outreach and networking

  • Sharing member benefits and highlighting success stories

  • Recommending new programs and opportunities to support engagement and retention

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee leads the planning and delivery of BOMA NB PEI’s annual awards program, celebrating excellence across our membership and connecting local recipients to national recognition.

Current Focus:

  • Leading the 2026 local awards program

  • Promoting award categories & encouraging early nominations
